Heat pump with furnace backup
A hybrid setup uses the heat pump most of the year and the furnace only on the coldest days. It trims the heating bill and keeps the house comfortable in a deep freeze.
What we did
- Matched the heat pump to the existing furnace
- Installed the outdoor unit on a stand
- Wired the controls to switch between the two
- Tested both modes before we left
